a success story!
Achim Storz started his career with an apprenticeship as a mechanic in Stuttgart. He was a racing car designer at Lotus and McLaren in Formula 1. Driven by his passion for cars, he came to the Royal College of Art in London as a student via Porsche Design. The experience he gained led to his independence.
Achim Storz opened the Design Storz studio on 1 October 1982 to realise his dream: To create design for cars. The first order came from Audi and was the starting signal for a successful career.
As the number of orders grew, the sphere of activity of Design Storz expanded. Fishing reels for Abu Garcia (Sweden – USA), sports shoes for Adidas (Germany) and Nike (USA), toothbrushes for Colgate (USA), automobiles for Argo Cars Ltd. (U.K.) and Audi (Germany). After the first 10 years, the company’s reach already extended across continents.
Today, Design Storz sets trends, not only in industrial design but also in the supreme discipline of transportation design. The clients include companies such as BMW, Chrysler, VW, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Ford, Honda, Porsche, Nissan, Volvo Cars and many more.
Design Storz sees itself as a full-service provider. From design consulting to detailed solutions and product development, clients seek cooperation at different levels.
